Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been officially delayed until early 2024.
Rocksteady Studios’ latest game had been scheduled to hit shelves on May 26, just six weeks away.
But following a noticeably underwhelming reaction to a lengthy gameplay trailer during PlayStation’s State of Play in February, Rocksteady and publisher Warner Bros. announced that the game will now be released on February 2, 2024.
In a statement, they said the decision was made so that they could deliver « the best quality experience for players ».

« We have made the tough but necessary decision to take the time needed to work on getting the game to be the best quality experience for players, » the statement read.
« Thank you to our amazing community for the continued support, patience and understanding. There is much more to share in the months ahead, and we look forward to seeing you in Metropolis next year. »
This isn’t the first time the online co-op shooter has been considerably delayed.
Originally, a 2022 release was planned before it was pushed back to May 2023.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who reported last month that Warner Bros. was planning on delaying the launch, downplayed speculation that the game could see a major overhaul as a result of this latest nine-month delay.
« Nine months is not enough time to completely change the nature of a game, » he said on Twitter.
« The team was told that the delay was for polish and not related to the February gameplay showcase. »
Schreier added: « To be clear, ‘polish’ can mean lots of things, from performance optimisation to balance tweaks to bug fixes to server stability. Folks are surprised a dev would take nine extra months to polish a game, but that’s actually normal these days. »
The game’s live-service approach was one of the significant reasons behind the backlash, while there were also complaints from some people about the direction taken with the gameplay.
